I love Vermouth as my summer drink. Chilled and on the rocks. If you've only been doing Martini and Rossi, you may want to branch out. A few faves: Mancinco Bianco Ambrato, Dolin Vermouth de Chambery Blanc, and Carpano Antica . I also like other fortified aperitifs like Dubonet and Cocchi Americano. All great! They should have a fairly high ABV and keep well in the fridge.
I've had Dolin, but it's spendier than I like for swirling a tbsp in a glass and tossing it out before pouring in gin. Speaking of, the late queen's fave drink was Dubonnet and Gin with a bit of lemon, which is nice but not in my regular rotation.
